He was born in Odesa. He graduated from the Odesa Pedagogical University, department of Fine Arts (1983). Since 1989 was a member of the National Artist’s Union of Ukraine. Lived and worked in Kyiv and Odesa. Died on August 8, 2021.

"Lady in White" is a work from a series of collages by Oleksandr Roitburd. Then, in the first half of the 90s, the artist created collages based on Soviet lithographs with images of historical figures, which he bought at the flea market. This series was called "The Lives of Beautiful People". Oleksandr Roitburd is one of the founders of the Ukrainian transavantgarde of the 1990s together with a group of Parkommune artists.
