Biography
etchingroom1 is the printing studio founded in 2016 by two graphic artists Kristina Yarosh and Anna Khodkova, in Kyiv (Ukraine). Artists are working in graphic techniques, etching, and mosaics. Winners of the special prize of Young Ukrainian Artists MUHi 2019 and the second prize of the II Biennial of Young Art.
Kristina Yarosh (born 1994) was born in Kyiv. She graduated from the department of book graphics of the Institute of Publishing and Printing of The National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". Currently, she mainly works with etching and the development of her own techniques. In her work, the artist appeals to unsightly objects in the urban space turning them into symbolic artifacts.
Anna Khodkova (born 1990). She graduated from Taras Shevchenko State Art High School (2008) and the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (2016). Works in etching, linocut, silkscreen, monotype, calligraphy techniques. Today in her practice she prefers the etching technique. The artist is interested in the transformation of human images and their metaphorization.
