ABOUT MUHi COMPETITION 2012

MUHi (Young Ukrainian Artists) – the first independent national competition for young Ukrainian artists under the age of 35.
MUHi project was created in 2009 on the initiative of Marina Shcherbenko, the founder and curator of Bottega Gallery and Shcherbenko Art Centre.

The project objective is to help creative individuals to express themselves, to promote young artists who seek to develop, who pick up the latest world tendencies and actively produce their own original ideas.

The main prerogative of the project is to discover new names in Ukrainian contemporary art. According to the rules, MUHi 2009-2012 nominees can’t participate in the competition again.

The works of nominees selected by the experts committee were presented at the final exhibition, which was held in Kiev, at Modern Art Research Institute in October 2012.
