Description
Dovecote
The basis of the work with the model was a task to show how birds imagine an airplane. Is it a foreign body? Is it an intrusion into the space of an alien or similar creature? The performer tries to pretend to be one of the inhabitants of the dovecote and speaks the “Bird’s tongue” of gestures and sounds. Thus, a certain flock of birds creates a micro-society of pigeons with its language, order and borders. The monolithic community of such a micro-society and its closedness to the Stranger arouses human admiration. In his naive attempt to understand its mechanisms, man tries to imitate the “Bird’s Tongue” of the Dovecote.
